At Valley Church we value the coming together of people on Sunday mornings but we know that what happens during the week is just as important. We want to provide our congregation with opportunities for meaningful spiritual development. There are two main ways that we try to do this. Home groups which meet during the week and mission opportunities.
Home groups are small groups that meet regularly and provide the space to get to know one another on a deeper level. It also serves as a safe space to work out things that you might be grappling with. We’ve also seen these home groups take on the challenge of being the “practical church” and stepping up when there are needs both in the church and in the Hout Bay community.
The second way we think is vital in being a “healthy Christian” is but participating in mission activities. This could be anything that requires you to step out and offer some time for building God’s kingdom. Some examples could be getting involved in a church ministry like kids church or joining our local missions organisation on a trip up into Imizamo Yethu. We would love to see more people get involved in this outward focused area of church life. Please contact one of the staff or elders if you would like more information.
