Core Value: Stewarding God’s Presence

We believe our ministry is first to seek and know God through the intimacy of a deepening personal relationship and engaging with Him through His Word, prayer and worship. Thus, all other ministry is covered and emanates from His Presence.

Psalm 73:28

But I’ll keep coming closer and closer to you, Lord Yahweh, for Your name is good to me. I’ll keep telling the world of Your awesome works, my faithful and glorious God!

Luke 10:39-42

As Jesus and the disciples continued on their journey, they came to a village where a woman welcomed Jesus into her home. Her name was Martha and she had a sister named Mary. Mary sat down attentively before the Master, absorbing every revelation he shared. But Martha became exasperated with finishing the numerous household chores in preparation for her guests, so she interrupted Jesus and said, “Lord, don’t you think it’s unfair that my sister left me to do all the work by myself? You should tell her to get up and help me.”

The Lord answered her, “Martha, my beloved Martha. Why are you upset and troubled, pulled away by all these many distractions? Mary has discovered the one thing most important by choosing to sit at my feet. She is undistracted, and I won’t take this privilege from her.”

John 4:23-24

From now on, worshipping the Father will not be a matter of the right place but with a right heart. For God is a Spirit, and He longs to have sincere worshippers who adore Him in the realm of the Spirit and in truth.”

Zephaniah 3:17

The Lord your God is with you [in your midst]; the mighty One will save you. He will rejoice over you [take delight in you].

You will rest [or He will quiet you; or He won’t rebuke you] in His love; He will sing and be joyful about you.”

What does this mean?

  • We want to cultivate a lifestyle of recognising God’s presence.

Colossians 3:17

Let every activity of your lives and every word that comes from your lips be drenched with the beauty of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. And bring your constant praise to God the Father because of what Christ has done for you!

  • God has made each of us a dwelling place for His Spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Have you forgotten that your body is now the sacred temple of the Spirit of Holiness, who lives in you? You don’t belong to yourself any longer, for the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, lives inside your sanctuary. You were God’s expensive purchase, paid for with tears of blood, so by all means, then, use your body to bring glory to God!

2 Timothy 1:14

Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.

Colossians 2:9-10

For He is the complete fullness of deity living in human form. And our own completeness is now found in Him. We are completely filled with God as Christ’s fullness overflows within us. He is the Head of every kingdom and authority in the universe!

  • As we draw near to God, He draws near to us.

James 4:8

Move your heart closer and closer to God, and He will come even closer to you. But make sure you cleanse your life, you sinners, and keep your heart pure and stop doubting.

  • When we encounter God and His Holy Spirit we are moved to love people and tell them about Jesus.

Matthew 28:18-20

Then Jesus came close to them and said, “All authority of the universe has been given to me. Now go in my authority and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And teach them to faithfully follow all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age.”

Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

  • Connected to God, we are filled with joy and peace and are empowered to take risks to extend the Kingdom.

Romans 14:17

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of rules about food and drink, but is in the realm of the Holy Spirit, filled with righteousness, peace, and joy.

Romans 15:13

Now may God, the fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in Him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with His super-abundance until you radiate with hope!

Don’t misunderstand

  • Being focused on His presence doesn’t mean Christians should spend their time in private worship, disconnected from the rest of life.

John 17:15&18

15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.

18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.

Hebrews 10:25

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

  • The Holy Spirit leads us into a Presence-focused lifestyle, not a self-focused lifestyle.

Matthew 16:24-25

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.

Luke 14:27

And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
