Core Value: Supernatural Culture

By the power of the Holy Spirit we move in signs, wonders and miracles. We pray and believe for healing. We practice the gifts of the Spirit. We walk in the belief that nothing is impossible for God.

  • Miracles did not stop with Jesus and the apostles.

Mark 16:15-18

And He said to them, “As you go into all the world, preach openly the wonderful news of the gospel to the entire human race! Whoever believes the good news and is baptised will be saved, and whoever does not believe the good news will be condemned. And these miracle signs will accompany those who believe: They will drive out demons in the power of my name. They will speak in tongues. They will be supernaturally protected from snakes and from drinking anything poisonous. And they will lay hands on the sick and heal them.”

  • Jesus said that signs would follow believers and we would do even greater works than He did.

John 14:12-14

“I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do – even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father! For I will do whatever you ask me to do when you ask me in my name. And that is how the Son will show what the Father is really like and bring glory to Him. Ask me anything in my name, and I will do it for you!”

Acts 2:17-18

“This is what I will do in the last days – I will pour out my Spirit on everybody and cause your sons and daughters to prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will experience dreams from God.  The Holy Spirit will come upon all my servants, men and women alike, and they will prophesy.”

Luke 9:1-2

Jesus summoned together His twelve apostles and imparted to them authority over every demon and the power to heal every disease. Then He commissioned them to proclaim God’s kingdom and to heal the sick to demonstrate that the kingdom had arrived.

Acts 5:15-16

In fact, when people knew Peter was going to walk by, they carried the sick out to the streets and laid them down on cots and mats, knowing the incredible power emanating from him would overshadow them and heal them. Great numbers of people swarmed into Jerusalem from the nearby villages. They brought with them the sick and those troubled by demons – and everyone was healed!

  • Just as the Father sent Jesus, Jesus sent us into the world with the power of the Holy Spirit.

John 20:21-23

Jesus repeated His greeting, “Peace to you!” And He told them, “Just as the Father has sent me, I’m now sending you.”  Then, taking a deep breath, He blew on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. I send you to preach the forgiveness of sins – and people’s sins will be forgiven. But if you don’t proclaim the forgiveness of their sins, they will remain guilty.”

John 17:18

I have commissioned them to represent me just as you commissioned me to represent you.

Matthew 28:18-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Luke 10:1-9

After this, the Lord Jesus formed thirty-five teams among the other disciples. Each team was two disciples, seventy in all, and He commissioned them to go ahead of Him into every town He was about to visit. He released them with these instructions:

“The harvest is huge. But there are not enough harvesters to bring it in. As you go, plead with the Owner of the Harvest to send out many more workers into His harvest fields. Now, off you go! I am sending you out even though you feel as vulnerable as lambs going into a pack of wolves.  You won’t need to take anything with you – trust in God alone. And don’t get distracted from my purpose by anyone you might meet along the way.

Once you enter a house, speak to the people there and say, ‘God’s blessing of peace be upon this house!’ If a lover of peace resides there, your peace will rest upon that household. But if you are rejected, your blessing of peace will come back upon you. Don’t shift from one house to another, but stay in one home during your time in that city. Eat and drink whatever they serve you. Receive their hospitality, for you are my harvester, and you deserve to be cared for.

When you enter into a new town, and you have been welcomed by its people, follow these rules: Eat what is served you. Heal the sick, and tell them all, ‘God’s kingdom has arrived and is now within your reach!’

  • Nothing is impossible with God; no person or situation is beyond God’s power to move and bring transformation.

Matthew 17:20

He told them, “It was because of your lack of faith. I promise you, if you have faith inside of you no bigger than the size of a small mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move away from here and go over there,’ and you will see it move! There is nothing you couldn’t do!

Mark 10:25-27

“It is easier to stuff a rope through the eye of a needle than for a wealthy person to enter into God’s kingdom.” But this left them all the more astonished, and they whispered to one another, “Then who could ever be saved?” Jesus looked at them and replied, “With people it is impossible, but not with God – God makes all things possible!”

Luke 1:34-37

Mary said, “But how could this happen? I am still a virgin!” Gabriel answered, “The Spirit of Holiness will fall upon you and almighty God will spread His shadow of power over you in a cloud of glory! This is why the child born to you will be holy, and He will be called the Son of God. What’s more, your aged aunty, Elizabeth, has also become pregnant with a son. The ‘barren one’ is now in her sixth month.  Not one promise from God is empty of power. Nothing is impossible with God!”

  • We believe all can be healed because Jesus demonstrated the Father’s will as He healed all the sick and demonised He encountered.

Matthew 4:23

Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

  • When we give our lives to Jesus we become a new creation. We receive the Holy Spirit, are able to walk in His power and are naturally supernatural.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

  • The Holy Spirit give every believer the supernatural power to witness and release miracles, signs and wonders.

Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Matthew 10:8

You must continually bring healing to lepers and to those who are sick, and make it your habit to break off the demonic presence from people, and raise the dead back to life. Freely you have received the power of the kingdom, so freely release it to others.

Matthew 16:19

I will give you the keys of heaven’s kingdom realm to forbid on earth that which is forbidden in heaven, and to release on earth that which is released in heaven.

  • Love is the reason that we want to move in the supernatural and experience signs, wonders and miracles.

1 Corinthians 16:14

Let love and kindness be the motivation behind all that you do.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.

Matthew 20:26-28

Don’t be like that. Instead, anyone who wants to be important among you must be your servant. And anyone who wants to be first must be your slave. Be like the Son of Man. He did not come to be served. Instead, He came to serve others. He came to give His life as the price for setting many people free.”

Do not misunderstand

  • It’s God who does the miraculous – not us! We are privileged to partner with Him in it.
  • We do not pursue a relationship with God just so that we can perform signs and wonders.
  • Miracles are an expression of the love and power of God, not an indication that we are more important in the Kingdom.
