Valley Church’s Statement of Faith

We believe in:

The unity of the Godhead – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

The sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption and final judgment. (Genesis 1:1; Hebrews 1:1-2; Titus 3:4-5; Acts 17:31; Revelation 20:11-15)

The deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 1:20; John 1:1-14; Hebrews 1:2-6; Colossians 1:15-20)

The bodily resurrection of our Saviour from the dead and His ascension to the right hand of the Father in heaven. (1 Corinthians 15:4; Hebrews 8:1)

The second coming of Christ in power and glory. (Acts 1:11; Hebrews 9:28; 2 Peter 3:10)

Man’s fallen condition rendering him subject to God’s judgment. (Romans 5:12; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9)

Redemption from sin solely through the sacrificial and propitiatory death of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:24-25; Romans 5:15-21; 2 Corinthians 5:19; Mark 10:45; Acts 4:12)

The justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith alone. (Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:8-9)

The Holy Spirit as the Divine Person through whom lost and sinful man is regenerated, and by whom the believer is filled and empowered for life and service. (John 3:5-6; Romans 8:9; 2 Thessalonians 2:13)

The one universal church which is the body of Christ and to which all true believers in Him belong. (Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Acts 2:41-47)

The priesthood of all believers. (1 Peter 2:9; Hebrews 10:19-22)
